I will never work with Last Paw Rescue again. If I could give them less than 1 star, I would. Over the course of 2 weeks, 3 applications and multiple more emails were sent for several dogs, and no correspondence was returned. After week 3, I sent one more email to ask for confirmation that my emails were even being received before submitting application #4. I received an email back with 1 sentence- “please contact our adoption coordinator” and a phone number. I did hear back from the foster mom of the dog from application #4, and she was wonderful and helpful. However, when I reached back out to the rescue again, I got nothing. I called the phone number and left a message, and when I called them a third time, I discovered that they had given me a wrong number- the woman with whom I had left a voice mail had no connection with the shelter whatsoever. After leaving a message with them on their Facebook page, I got a curt response to my request to discuss payment options for the dog. While it wasn't outright rude, it was certainly abrupt and dismissive. At that point, I was nearly finished with LPR, but Id fallen in love with the dog and really wanted to make it work, so I left one more message with them with another option. I can see that the message has been read, but yet again, I have been ignored.
At this point, I can see why Last Paw Rescue has so many dogs available. Their adoption fees are suspiciously high for an organization with virtually no overhead costs (especially in comparison to actual shelters that don’t foster their dogs out), their customer service is ridiculous, and they make it very hard to communicate with anyone in order to facilitate an adoption.
Do yourself a favor, and look to another rescue/shelter organization for your next pet.
